FriendFeed, Twitter, Web 2.0 and All That Jazz
OK so here´s a little experiment - or sideline - or bit of fun...
If you are familiar with Twitter, FriendFeed, Web 2.0 properties and Social Bookmarking then this won´t be news to you...But just in case you aren´t so au fait with these developments here (below) is the content of a `feed´ from FriendFeed, which (so far) features the posts from Twitter that one of `our representatives´ has submitted in recent times.
In the last year Twitter has `exploded´ in popularity and now has millions of users, or Twitterites, or Tweeps, Tweeting away every day. Far from being a nonsensical waste of time that some thought it was during its inception, Twitter has grown like Topsy and created Twittering Addicts out of many normally sane (?) adults!
Basically it consist of you ´twittering´ about any little thing you happen to be doing as the day goes on...But naturally it goes deeper tha that. Twitter allows you (within140 character bursts) to draw attention to anything that has caught your eye on the web - so you can place a link in your posts for others to visit.
A good Twitterite will pepper their Twits with interesting tidbits, as well as interesting links..and just maybe a ´small business´ might see that, done right (not too heavy handed) there could be some good PR opps in such a `carry-on´!
Now FriendFeed is the latest star rising in the firmament of Web 2.0 glittery-things! Very simply you can set up all your Web 2.0 activities to ´feed´ through to your FriendFeed page so that `no-one´ need ever miss anything you `virtually´ ever do! A superb piece of co-ordinating work and super simple to use.
These are just two Web 2.0 properties that are currently twinkling. And I didn´t even mention the handy free service from WebRSS.com that makes the atom feed you´ll see below materiaize on this page. Plus we didn´t even face up to the use of FaceBook here...that will need its own page...after all 80 million+ FaceBookers can´t be wrong!
But then again, you might already be actively posting your likes and dislikes through Delicious and StumbleUpon or Digg and many more. Perhaps you are a veteran YouTuber who has already many `video credit´ to their name? If not...and you are running a small business...and you hope to make more sales...then the question must be asked...WHY NOT?
